John Proven has fifteen years of experience as a senior financial officer and administrator across sectors including public practice accounting, government, and the private sector. As the Controller of Sun Media’s Manitoba-based publishing and printing operations for seven years John was responsible for financial management, labour relations and human resources. Immediately prior to joining GrowthWorks John was the Publisher and General Manager of Canstar Community News Limited with operations in Winnipeg and Thunder Bay. As a Treasury Board Analyst with the Province of Manitoba in the mid-1990’s John gained an understanding of government decision making processes and the important role that governments play in relation to private enterprise. John’s corporate directorships include: Custom Software Solutions Inc.; Ice Kube Systems, Ltd.; Librestream Technologies Inc.; Momentum Healthware Inc.; Monteris Medical Inc.; and Tell Us About Us Inc. John is active in the community as a Director of the Associates, I.H. Asper School of Business, and St. John Brebeuf School Board. |
