David Balsdon
Chief Operating Officer
David Balsdon joined our team in 2001 and has over 20 years’ experience in the financial industry. David was appointed Chief Operating Officer in May 2011 and Chief Compliance Officer in April 2008. In addition to these duties, he is also the Secretary-Treasurer and a Director for Matrix resource limited partnerships. Prior to these appointments, David was Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer for Mavrix Fund Management Inc. from April 2004 to March 2010. David represents Matrix Funds Management (a division of GrowthWorks Capital Ltd.) with IFIC and periodically serves on IFIC committees. To complement his current responsibilities, David can draw on his experience in mutual fund operations, marketing support and product development as Vice President of Operations and Administration at Mavrix Funds from 2001 to 2008 as well as management positions at a major Canadian mutual fund company and a major Canadian custodian prior to 2001. David completed the Partners, Directors and Senior Officers Certificate with the CSI in 2008. |
